E-Blasts

ALL MATERIALS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST THREE BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE LAUNCH TO GUARANTEE TIME TO LOAD, TEST, AND ADDRESS ANY UNFORESEEN ISSUES.

All materials should be submitted ready to be deployed, so please make sure you proof all copy before submitting.

No third party URL shortener services permitted (ex. bit.ly) as they cause emails to be flagged as Spam.

You will be sent a test prior to scheduling of your blast. Failure to approve your test in a timely fashion may result in blast needing to be rescheduled.

All blasts (no matter the asset submission format), will require the following elements:

  • Plain Text: No Formatting of any kind, just plain text. This can contain URLs, as long as they are not formatted. This text will also be used to create an article version of the eBlast for the BroadwayWorld website.
  • Subject line: The subject line of the email, best practices suggest no more than 9 words or 60 characters.
  • Preview Text: Email preview text is generally between 35-90 characters, while some email clients may show up to 140 characters (maximum allowed.) One study found 24% of people make the decision to open based on preview text, and on average results in 8% more opens and 30% increase in clicks.

There are THREE ways in which you can submit an eBlast:

HTML E-Blast

HTML: Similar to a web page, can be set up to include full formatting, images, etc… Please provide html file (which needs to be set up so all images are pulled off of your webserver). Do not use style sheets. All formatting must be directly coded in.

HTML files should be smaller than 2 MB. When sending larger files, this may result in some email service providers not accepting your email.

The ideal HTML eBlast width is between 600 and 680 pixels.

FROM THE THEATER THAT BROUGHT YOU DISGRACED, MARYS SEACOLE, AND PASS OVER…
When some trifling citizens storm a renowned cultural center where they’re not meant to be, all hell breaks loose. Wigs go flying. Wounds get opened. An archive explodes. Will the audience make it out alive? Abolition takes on fresh meaning in SIX CHARACTERS, Phillip Howze’s new play on power, belonging, and the institutions we build. Directed by Dustin Wills (Wolf Play – Lortel Award, Wet Brain).
Howze’s plays have been presented at NYTW, The Public Theater, and Clubbed Thumb. His NY playwriting debut Frontieres Sans Frontieres premiered in a sold-out, extended engagement at The Bushwick Starr and was named one of the “10 Best Theatrical Productions of the Year” by New York Magazine.
